The Chinese calendar runs on a lunar cycle. If you were born in January or early
Febuary you would be considered to be born in the "tail" of the previous year
ie. 29th Jan 1971 would be the animal of the year 1970. The exact first day of each
new year varies from year however and can be checked on internet sources.
